John Everett’s Narrow Creek Stud offers two nice colts at the CTS Ready To Run and Mixed Sale next week, and Lot 89 is interestingly named Lock Down.

Everett chuckled: “This may be an omen, he’s a quality colt by What A Winter. He was actually named long before the lockdown started. His dam is Social Climber, she’s a half-sister to Badgers Gift and this is only her third foal, it’s a good family.

“We came up with the name Lock Down, because this is what happens to mountaineers when they climb in the middle of winter and base camp is closed for safety. They call it Lock Down.

“He was withdrawn from the National Sale in April, much more mature now, a lovely horse.”

The other colt from Narrow Creek is Lot 93, by Rafeef from the two-time winner, Tilbury (Windrush), from the extended family of Senor Santa and London Guest.

“I tell you, he’s a bull of a horse, a monster, there is lots to work with here,” said Everett.
