THE 2016 Emperors CTS Select Yearling Sale will be launched with a Cocktail Party at Emperors Hotel and Casino 18:30 on Thursday evening, followed by a Charity Poker Event starting at 19:30.

There is a buy-in of R5,000 to the Poker, to be held in the Gladiators Poker Room at the Hotel and CTS Sales Manager Amanda Carey
commented: “We are delighted to have 42 entries already, the horse patrons seem to love their cards and we’re expecting several more
entries on Thursday.”

Meanwhile yearlings from leading stud farms around the country have arrived safely for Friday’s Sale, at which 189 choice lots will go
through the auction ring.

On Tuesday afternoon, construction workers were putting their finishing touches to the large hospitality tent and inner sales ring,
erected in typical CTS splash-out fashion in the garden behind the award-winning Peermont D’Oreale Grande Hotel.

Carey said: “Everything is on track, the horses are here and we’ve already had a number of trainers looking around the barns today,
including Joey Ramsden, Mike Azzie and Sean Tarry.”

The sales blocks are open for viewing and most breeders have arrived to be in attendance. The following withdrawals have been noted: 35; 52; 59; 65; 66; 103; 161; 165; 172; 183.

The catalogue can be viewed online at www.capethoroughbredsales.com, or for information contact Amanda Carey on (082) 465 4020.
