Twist Of Fate and Cirillo, the first two runners past the post in Saturday’s R250,000 Gr3 Cape Classic over 1400m at Kenilworth, are two super running adverts for the CTS Sales.

Twist Of Fate, by Master Of My Fate from Crescent Lily, by Counter Action, received a single bid from trainer Joey Ramsden at the 2017 March Yearling Sale, sold for R20,000, and races for the Mauritius-based River Palace Syndicate.

So far Twist Of Fate has won 4 races with 3 places from 8 starts for stakes of R441 600.

Trainer Sean Tarry put his hand up to secure Cirillo for R300,000 at the 2017 Cape Premier Yearling Sale and the colt by star freshman sire Pomodoro showed ability from the moment he set foot on the racetrack.

Cirillo, second in the Gr2 SA Nursery at Turffontein and a stake earner in the Gr1 Premiers Champion Stakes on Super Saturday, has won twice and placed four times. He has already banked R510,000 for owner Chris van Niekerk. The pair may well clash again in the forthcoming Gr1 Cape Guineas.
