Cape Thoroughbred Sales (CTS) is once again inviting all breeders and owners to enter their unbroken two-year-olds into the CTS Ready To Run and Unbroken Two-Year-Old Sale scheduled for Sunday, 31 October, 2021.

Having partnered with Cape Racing for the 2021 hosting, the sale will be held at Kenilworth Racecourse and is an excellent and safe option to sell two-year-olds that are ready to race; those who are a little behind in their development and not yet broken in, and those who were left unsold from previous or cancelled sales.

Grant Knowles, Managing Director of CTS, commented: “Figures show that the unbroken two-year-olds on last year’s Ready To Run Sale sold almost 7% more than the Ready To Run lots, which indicates that vendors should not be concerned about a lack of attention for their entries. As the statistics show, all entries have a fair chance of being sold, and all entries will be eligible for the associated sales race.

“We have received a number of requests to extend the deadline for entries from 1 July to mid-August 2021, in an attempt to accommodate everyone. Therefore, the deadline for entries has been extended until 16 August 2021.”

The 2021 R2R Sale will be preceded by the R2R gallops on Friday, 29 October, followed by the R2R Stakes Race on Saturday, 30 October. CTS and Cape Racing have joined forces to stage the 2021 De Grendel Ready To Run Stakes for prize money of R900,000.
