Runners raised at Hassen Adams’ Nadeson Park Stud arestarting to show their worth at tracks around the country, most recently the Mike and Adam Azzie trained Al Borak, who scored so impressively on Jockeys International Day at Turffontein.
Nadeson Park’s 17-strong contingent at the Ready To Run Sale includes seven two-year-olds by star stallion Gimmethegreenlight and the stud’s Charl van der Westhuizen commented: “We are so happy with his success, and he continues to produce exciting offspring.
“We culled our broodmare band and Mr Adams has bought a few more mares, handpicked them to focus on quality rather than quantity and our business strategy is starting to reap rewards. This is probably our best draft ever.”
Lot 25, Van der Westhuizen noted, is a Gimmethegreenlight colt that looks just like his sire. “He was bred from a small mare in Ginger Hill, but she’s thrown a bigger foal here, his name is Green Serenity ad he’s very nice.”
Lot 56 is Gone Rouge, by Gimmethegreenlight from London Niece, the half-sister to Promisefrommyheart and already the dam of multiple winners. “He’s easy on the eye, athletic and well balanced,” said Van der Westhuizen.
There is plenty of paddock value in Lot 105, a filly by Gimmethegreenlight from Single Rose (Joshua Dancer) the three-parts sister to Philippa Johnson and Chekelli.
Van der Westhuizen is keen, too, on the progeny of Redoute’s Choice stallion Time Thief and he mentioned Lot 13, a colt named The Contractor, the second foal of Elegantes by Danehill Dancer. “We bought the mare in foal, Mr Adams loves her. This is a forward going colt, big and strong and prepared for the sale by Patrick Kruyer.”
Kruyer has also spoken in high regard of Lot 83 Midnight Caller, a son of Twice Over and Pulsator, by Captain Al. “He’s a flashy colt, a lovely Twice Over who will probably take some time but he’ll be a nice horse. He’s from a selected mare and Paddy has reported that he has caught the eye, a very nice mover that excited us.”
