Drakenstein Stud’s Kevin Sommerville provided notes on their four lot draft for the 2021 CTS De Grendel Ready To Run and Unbroken Sale on Sunday 31 October at Kenilworth.
Lot 24: Pixie In Love: “She is a very athletic, easy-going daughter of What A Winter, she had a hiccup with a virus and will not be galloping, but I think she will sell herself on her looks and certainly on the way she walks.”
Lot 33, Captainofthegreen: “He is a striking, robust son of Gimmethegreenlight out of the stakes-performing mare, Madam Rooney (Windrush). He ticks all the boxes, he is smart and we believe his gallop will go very well.”
Lot 36, Franz Lehar: “He looks to be a precocious son of Querari out of a speedy mare, The Merry Widow, who was a very good two-year-old filly. He goes about his work very easily and has plenty of speed, a typical Ready to Run horse.
Lot 95, Mari Marie: “A typical Twice Over filly, quite robust with a beautiful pedigree. She is going to be sold on the unbroken sale section. She is nice and should be appealing to buyers.”
