Hein Moller is working diligently at Swellendam’s Ten Einde Stud and he’s making significant progress with improved bloodstock. Ten Einde sold two lots for under R100,000 each at the 2020 Cape Premier Yearling Sale and last year brought a single one that fetched R125,000.

Six yearlings raised at Ten Einde will go under the hammer this year, representing three sires and a good variety of female lines and a good auction is expected for this up-and-coming operation.

Moller spoke about his draft: “Lot 50 is a Royal Mo colt from Free Flo (Captain Al), who has produced a few fast and promising sorts from her first few foals. A strong colt with all in the right places, very happy with him.

Lot 68, What A Winter colt.

“Lot 68 is a What A Winter colt from Jo’s Bond, the Graded and eight-time winner by Captain Al. He’s only her second foal and has some maturing to do, but again has plenty to like about him and will develop into a beautiful colt. Don’t miss out.

“Lot 91 is filly by What A Winter from Miss Einstein (VAR), the mare is a half-sister to My Kazzie and Mentor, a potent female line. She’s bred for speed this one, the sale may come a bit soon, but she’ll be perfect later this year.

“Lot 134 is a striking colt by Royal Mo from five-time winner Seal My Fate (Horse Chestnut). He’s my favourite, a strong and athletic first foal and I’m already looking forward to his racing career.

“Lot 137 is a filly by Captain Of All from Selkie (Caesour), an unraced half-sister to Admirals Daughter from the family of Irridesence. Very athletic filly, she’s high on the leg with scope, I like her a lot.

“Lot 174 is our third Royal Mo colt, this one from Westerns (Western Winter) who has already thrown multiple winners from all five her foals so far. His two half-brothers are both Derby placed, so he could be a Derby prospect too. Very happy with him!”
