Sarah toyed with her opposition in Saturday’s Listed Swallow Stakes for three-year-old fillies over the standside 1160m at Turffontein, another running advertisement for CTS bargain buys.

Bred by Peter de Beyer, Sarah was a ‘steal’ at just R80 000 to the bid of trainer Paul Peter at the 2018 CTS April Yearling Sale.

De Beyer raced her rather modest, but well related, one-time winning dam Sylvie, a daughter of Dupont, who traces back to the accomplished family of past SA Horse Of The Year Winter Solstice

With the pace on and Gin Fizz putting on a gallant effort all the way to the 400m mark, Sarah showed she’s in another class when jockey Warren Kennedy called on her to prove it. She drew level and the sped away effortlessly to win by just over three lengths, nostrils flaring.

Despite her elevated status, this was the talented Sarah’s (8-10) first stakes success and she was untroubled, setting a time of 67,14 secs.

Sarah, raced by the Hyperpaint Syndicate, took her stakes earnings to R493 625 at her sixth victory with four places from her ten starts.  It will be interesting to see how Peter places her from here on. – Extracts from TAB News and Sporting Post.
