Heinrich Rix of Stone Hill Stud offers two two-year-olds at the RTR Sale next week, both bred from dams from which he is expecting fireworks.

Both are first foals, one from a mare by Snitzel, the other from a mare by Captain Al.

Lot 80 is an unnamed filly by Coup De Grace from Preoccupation, a daughter of Australian super sire Snitzel and Rix said: “Snitzel needs no introduction and there can’t be many foals born from his mares in South Africa at present. This is a scopy filly, well put-together, well-balanced and I think she’ll be smart.”

Lot 148 is a Vercingetorix colt from the two-time winning Khaleesi, whose sire Captain Al is already a pretender to South Africa’s Champion Broodmare sire’s crown.

“This colt should come early, it seemed initially like he’d take time, but he’s come on very well, he has big hindquarters, he looks like a sprinter.
