Anton Shepherd has singled out two of his five yearlings raised at his Beaumont Stud in Paarl, to come under the auctioneer’s hammer at the 2020 Cape Premier Yearling Sale.

His pick of the bunch is Lot 45, due through the ring early in the sale. She’s an unnamed Captain Of All filly out of Palo Santo, by National Emblem, a promising mare who has the three-time winner Pantsula (Black Minnaloushe) among her foals and comes from the formidable family of Imperious Sue and Royal Air Force.

“She’s a high-quality filly who walks like a dream,” Shepherd said.

He also praised his Master Of My Fate colt (Lot 32), born from Valberg’s half-sister Its Freezing (Judpot). This colt will be the very last to enter the sales ring on Thursday evening and will be one worth waiting for.  The youngster is related to a number of accomplished runners, his granddam being a half-sister to Sabina Park, the dam of Master Sabina, Sabina’s Dynasty, American Landing and Roman Forum.

“He’s a high-quality horse with a beautiful head, the type I can see running in a major race like the Sun Met one day,” said Shepherd.
