You won’t find many individuals more enthusiastic about breeding than Normandy Stud’s Oscar Foulkes. He studies pedigrees and confirmation and is committed to consistent improvement of the already excellent horses produced at the stud owned by his mother, Veronica.

Foulkes filed some notes about Normandy’s 2020 CPYS draft (all unnamed), as follows:

Lot 41 – Speedball of a filly. She’s is so muscular she’s almost butch. Everything out of this family wins races.

Lot 49 – Plenty of Silvano about this colt. He’s scopey, with loads of presence and moves well. We have high hopes for this mare from a top German family.

Lot 74 – Absolute belter of a Gimmethegreenlight colt. The dam’s first foal is a promising stayer.

Lot 117 – This colt is a promising start for his dam, a half-sister to Mother Russia. Good-sized and scopey.

Lot 132 – There’s something very classy about this Quasillo filly. She has plenty of quality on the page.

Lot 149 – Super Gimmethegreenlight filly, the first foal of a stakes-placed winner. Her granddam has a 100% record.

Lot 179 – There is star quality about this Twice Over colt. A Derby type.

Lot 190 – We’ve loved this Querari colt since he took his first breath. He has film star looks.

Lot 221 – This athletic filly is guaranteed to stay 2400m+. We like her a lot (and we share her birthday).
