Lot 47, Silvano colt

Champion breeders Klawervlei have 40 yearlings on sale at the CTS April auction this week, to be sold on behalf of the farm and “As Agent”.

Stud Manager Caroline Griesel pointed out that there were seven withdrawals, but that the draft as a whole is of excellent quality.

It’s never easy to single out individuals, but Griesel made her shortlist of Klawervlei’s outstanding individuals in an outstanding group.

In lot order:

Lot 7:  Trippi filly from Mana Mou by Captain Al “A very neat filly from a half-sister to former Champion Sprinter Mythical Flight.”

Lot 23: Captain Al filly from Pepperdine, by Trippi “There are only three Captain Al yearlings on this sale and there are a few left on the farm and a few for next year’s CTS Premier Sale, but they’re getting rare. This one is a very good-sized filly, a good walker, a typical Captain Al!”

Lot 36: Philanthropist colt from Schism, by Count Du Bois “This is a colt of high quality from a mare who is a half-sister to Gone Wild, the dam of last Saturday’s Gr1 SA Classic winner Lobo’s Legend.

Lot 47: Silvano colt from Sting Operation by Captain Al “Here’s a good sized Silvano we kept back from the Premier Sale because he had too much growing to do. He has furnished beautifully now, a classic-looking individual.”

Lot 55: Elusive Fort filly from Trinity House, by Captain Al “A lovely filly bred from a half-sister to Vercingetorix.”

Lot 59: Vercingetorix colt from War Path, by Captain Al “The offspring of Vercingetorix are eye-catching, this is a superb colt, a first foal of a Listed-placed Captain Al mare.

Lot 77: Captain Al colt from Blythe Spirit by Rakeen “A late foal kept back for this sale, he has grown nicely and comes from a long line of black-type winners.”
