Terry and Anabel Andrews of Sorrento Stud don’t normally take a large draft of foals to auctions, but they had no choice when penciling in their two-year-olds for the CTS Ready To Run Sale this Friday – their group is so strong that 21 of them made the cut!

“We’ve never brought so many to a sale and we are super excited,” said Terry Andrews, who has long raved about the offspring of the farm’s resident stallion, Louis The King. “They’re horses of class and substance and I hope the market responds this year. We’re looking for a good sale.”

Sorrento’s five Louis The King two-year-olds include Lot 35, a “very smart” filly name Louis Gem, bred from the Fort Wood mare Hope Downs. “I’ve prepared horses here like Big City Life and Elusive Trader, this filly is one of the best that’s gone through my hands. She can go in, race and win tomorrow,” Andrews assessed.

Lot 54 is Dawn Of A New Era, a Louis The King colt from a mare by Trippi. His half brother Mitra Music ran a place in Hong Kong this week, he hails from the family of Val de Ra.

Lot 127 is a Louis The King colt from a Counter Action mare named World So High. He is a half brother to last season’s Listed winner What You Are, who is training on into a smart sort. “He’s got classic looks,” said Andrews.

Vercingetorix is on everyone’s lips and Andrew reckons he has a special one in Lot 156. She’s a daughter of Calais, by Badger Land, from the family of Even The Wind and Forest Fantasy and he commented: “She has a superb action, a filly that will go places.”

Lot 85 is a beautiful dark bay son of Soft Falling Rain from Qin Wei, by Western Winter, from the potent family of Monyela, Cork Wood, Horse Chestnut et al. “He’s impressive, my son Anthony rides our two-year-olds in work for us and his reports on this one has been good. He has an elastic action.”

Also worth noting is Lot 144, a Pomodoro filly from a mare by Trippi, said to have a”beautiful big stride.” She is well related coming from the family of Roman Eagle and Kiss Me Quick.”

Andrews concluded: “We really have a nice variety on offer at this sale, perhaps the best we’ve had, and we’re really proud. We invite buyers to visit us at the sale to see for themselves.”
