New on the block at this year’s Cape Premier Yearling Sale is Evergreen Farm of Paarl, managed by Inel Bekker of The Alchemy fame.

Evergreen has consigned two yearlings, a filly and a colt, and Bekker said they are both quality types.

Lot 132 is a filly by Twice Over from Pearl Princess by champion broodmare sire Fort Wood. “She’s a lovely, scopy filly that moves well, a good prospect,” assessed Bekker.

Lot 197 is a colt by Vercingetorix from Te Gusta, by Western Winter, from the immediate family of speedballs Barcelona Baby and Lady Of Cadiz and the recent stakes winning miler/stayer, Warfarer. “He’s another that moves well, in my view not as scopy as our filly, but he has good girth and strong hindquarters.”
