Trainer Glen Kotzen provided his thoughts on Gary and Jackie Jolliffe’s Golden Touch Thoroughbred Services quintet, to be sold on Sunday’s 2021 De Grendel CTS Ready To Run & Unbroken Sale at Kenilworth.

The well-established vendor’s fabulous five is made up of four colts and a filly. Three are offered as agent.

Lot 1, Bar Visions, is a Visionaire colt out of a multiple winning Jet Master half-sister to Gr3 winner Lady Of Steel. The granddam is the Gr1 Empress Club Stakes winner Fair Maiden. “He is a good looking and well grown chestnut colt,” comments trainer Glen Kotzen.

Lot 14, Echoes Of Winter, is a What A Winter filly out of the Fort Wood mare Escondida. A half-sister to four winners, she is out of a winning three-parts sister to Equus Champion, triple Gr1 winner, and successful sire, Elusive Fort, and hails from the famous ‘E family’, associated with the maestro, Terrance Millard. “She is pure class,” adds Glen.

The seasoned trainer says we will not find a nicer moving colt than lot 29. His granddam is a stakes winning daughter of multiple champion sire Giant’s Causeway, the Australian power family of champions Ajdal, Arazi, and Noverre.

Lot 54 is the beautifully named Angelswillfollowme, a Master Of My Fate colt out of a half-sister to Durban July winning champion Big City Life and Gr3 winner Cash Register. The latter is dam of four black type horses, including Gr2 winner Snapscan and the Gr1 sprinter Speedpoint. “He is a dead ringer for Master Of My Fate,” says Glen, who trained the much-loved Big City Life to that memorable victory at Hollywoodbets Greyville in the Durban July in 2009.

Rounding up the quintet is lot 58, Big Slick, a Canford Cliffs colt out of a full sister to Gr2 winner Reflective Image. This athletic fellow is a half-brother to two winners, including Gr3 Strelitzia Stakes third Gold Image, who won her first start only ten days after the 2016 RTR sale!

As this is the first year the sale will be held at Kenilworth, Glen is bullish. “It is a world-class venue and time will tell,” he says.

All of the Golden Touch horses have seen the grass at Durbanville, but Glen confirms that no pressure has been put on them.

The 2021 CTS Ready To Run Stakes which will be run on Saturday, 30 October. Golden Touch have more than one past graduate they will be shouting across the line. The Elusive Fort gelding Bush Tracker is one of the top selections. Official Secret and Winter Scout were both in the top twenty on the log. Another of their graduates, Jack Tarr has been sold to Mauritius.

“The race is a great incentive to buy at the RTR sale and Golden Touch continues to produce top class two-year-olds that are always well received in the sales arena. Feel free to contact us at any time, and we look forward to seeing you at the sale!” concluded Glen.
