Cape Thoroughbred Sales (CTS), will be staging a festive function at the popular Barnyard Theatre in Tyger Valley, Durbanville, on Friday, 18 June, with ticket proceeds in aid of the Western Cape Equine Trust.

The Barnyard Theatres, synonymous with fresh, fun environments and top-class live entertainment, is a South African institution for nights out in a safe, themed space, with excellent food and beverages, and the best live musical extravaganzas in the country.

Barnyard Tyger Valley will be staging “Two Decades Collide” with the hottest hits from the 1980s and 1990s, a spectacular show that has played to sell-out audiences at the Barnyard venues upcountry. It is a roller-coaster ride of music, including hits from favourites like Bryan Adams, Depeche Mode and Belinda Carlisle, to MC Hammer and Chesney Hawkes, to SA topliners like Mango Groove, Brenda Fassie and Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse.

The cost to CTS guests will be only R2250 for a table of 10, and that includes 10 theatre tickets and generous helpings of delicious Barnyard pizza. A cash bar will be available.

Ken Truter, Chairman of the Western Cape Equine Trust, commented: “CTS surprised us with this kind gesture. Last year we had to cancel our annual fundraising luncheon at Kenilworth due to Covid-19, and we have had to draw on reserves to keep going this year.

“The Barnyard function will be a big help, and it sounds like a wonderful night out. We are hoping, too, to re-introduce our luncheon this year, at the end of November or the first weekend in December.”

Grant Knowles, Marketing and Bloodstock Director of CTS commented: “We will be helping an established, professional horse welfare organisation. The Western Cape Equine Trust is an essential and much-needed non-profit organisation that does amazing work for retired racehorses, and we know that every bit of support makes a difference.

"Our event at the Barnyard is a thoroughly enjoyable way of raising funds, and at the same time touching base with people who care deeply for our industry. We look forward to a jolly and entertaining evening!”
