Sorrento Stud will be offering two colts and two fillies at the 2021 De Grendel CTS Ready To Run and Unbroken-Two-Year-Old Sale on Sunday, 31 October at Kenilworth Racecourse.

“We are especially fond of the colts,” said Terry Andrews, and noted that Lot 22 Montien (Louis The King) is a big, strong colt with good bone. He is from the young Fort Wood mare, Hope Downs, who is expected to produce a top horse. We have sent her to new stallion Hawwaam this season. “Montien’s full-sister – Louis’ Diamond – finished second to Candice Bass-Robinson’s excellent filly Santa Maria earlier this week, and Hope Downs’first progeny Louis Gem has already won twice, so it is a proven mating, and this is a smart colt.”

Lot 47 is Coronation Time, by Louis The King. Also good on the eye, he is a half-brother to the four-time winning filly Meet At The George. “He works well, this colt, promising indeed,” said Andrews.

Sorrento’s first one through the ring will be Lot 5, Daenerys Targaryen, named after one of the female characters in the popular ‘Game Of Thrones’ TV series. “She is nice and correct, on the small side and not flashy and she is related through her dam, Bursary, to Lot 46 Princess Maha, who is bigger and quite flashy.”

Sorrento’s four have been broken in and will be taken to Durbanville for a canter on the grass in a few weeks, ahead of the sale
