“Lot 19 is a very nice colt, the best Pomodoro I’ve brought to a sale,” said David Hepburn-Brown of Hemel N Aarde Stud of his first Cape Premier Yearling Sale entry this year.

Unnamed, the flashy “red” is from Gilmore Girl and a stout Brazilian female line.

Lot 28 is a big, strong grey colt by Galileo’s son Kingsbarns and Hepburn-Brown commented: “Kingsbarns are limited edition horses, not many of them around and this one comes from an excellent stakes-winning family.”

Mamma’s Boy (Lot 70) is by Elusive Fort from a Jet Master mare and Hepburn-Brown said: “He’s a colt of substance with lots of Jet Master in him.”

Lot 78 is unnamed, a colt by Vercingetorix from Nandi, by Danehill Dancer, a leading broodmare sire around the world. “He’s a lovely balanced colt,” noted Hepburn-Brown.

Last up for Hemel N Aarde is Lot 127, a filly by Captain Of All from the prolific stakes-producer Russian Foxtrot (Rikitikitana, Rockin’ Russian et al). The Captain Of All progeny has impressed Hepburn-Brown, who said: “This is a high quality, racy filly with a lovely temperament.”
