Jane Thomas of Far End Stud prepares her auction-bound two-year-olds herself at her Mooi River farm and she tells that the legendary Andrew Fortune himself came to give her Ready To Run draft a “feel” recently.
“Andrew said they were well adjusted, well schooled, which is what we like to hear. And they’re a nice bunch, we have nine at this year’s sale,” said Thomas.
She’s especially impressed by Lot 114, Global Town, a “well-balanced, lovely-moving” colt by Gallileo’s son Global View. He is bred from a mare by former champion broodmare sire, Al Mufti.
Lot 129 is a bay colt by Querari from Varlet by VAR, herself a five-time winner, and this one is not surprisingly described as a “fast, smart type” that should come early.
Far End has two Linngari two-year-olds on offer, both qualifying for the BSA bonuses and KZN Millions. The colt is particularly nice and strong – Lot 124, he is named Crimson Ice and his dam is a full-sister to international star, Crimson Palace.
Equally well related is Lot 89, a VAR filly from Rashuli Breeze named Variety Breeze. She hails from the family of Variety Club and is described as a “well-topped” filly.
“I also like our grey colt, Lot 4, who is by Willow Magic. He has improved nicely since joining us,” said Thomas.
