Gary and Jackie Jolliffe have made a name for themselves over the last decade breeding runners like Gr1 winners Guiness, Chestnut n Pearls and Imperious Star from their Golden Touch Thoroughbreds based at the pristine Nutfield Stud.

They’ve also raised multiple Gr2, Gr3 and Listed winners from limited budgets and a limited band of selected mares, testimony to their talent and knowledge of thoroughbreds and breeding.

Gary has supplied notes on Golden Touch’s four yearlings on offer at the Cape Premier Yearling Sale:

Lot 48: Earl. By Duke Of Marmalade (IRE) out of Escondida, a 3 part sister to ELUSIVE FORT, and Esprit (dam of ELUSIVE SILVER)

“A rangy/scopy/leggy athletic colt, with a nice deep girth to match. From the famous “Millard E family”.

Lot 151: Madam Seville. By Duke Of Marmalade (IRE) out of G2 and LISTED winner REFLECTIVE IMAGE. From an improving pedigree, with Gold Image G3 placed. “With lots of growth to come, she has scope a plenty, and a back end like the proverbial “British Barmaid”.

Lot 154: Sovereign Rose. By Duke of Marmalade (IRE) out of Rose Garden, herself a half-sister to SOFT  FALLING RAIN, LET IT RAIN and Splendid Garden.

“The dam of the promising Duke of Marmalade filly Duchess Of Bourbon. A very scopy filly with a great loin and quarter.”

Lot 204: Flame Lilly. By Oratorio out of Tinder Box, the dam of G1 winner GUINESS and multiple winners November Rain, Sweet Child O Mine and Sacred Flame. “A very correct filly, well made with a good hind quarter and leg.”
